Romania offers several ways to see its mountains, coast, cities and countryside from the air. You can book a tandem parachute jump, fly with a licensed tandem paraglider pilot, take a scenic flight in a small aircraft or helicopter, try a paramotor flight, or look for a hot-air balloon ride. Activities operate from different bases, and a listed location does not guarantee that a flight is running on your chosen date.
Tandem skydiving
For a first jump, tandem skydiving lets you leave the aircraft attached to an instructor, who manages the jump and parachute. Aeroclubul României lists tandem-jump locations in Baia Mare, Brașov, Bucharest, Cluj, Craiova, Deva, Iași, Ianca, Pitești, Sibiu, Suceava and Târgu Mureș. Its voucher information says jumps are organised only during selected periods; customers may be placed on a waiting list until a team is available at the chosen location. Confirm the date and local arrangements directly before travelling.

TNT Brothers offers tandem jumps at Clinceni, near Bucharest, and Tuzla, on the Black Sea coast. Check its location schedule and participant requirements before booking.

Aeroclubul României lists introductory and voucher flights in aircraft including the Cessna 182, Cruiser PS28 and ultralight aircraft; the voucher pages show which locations are selectable for each experience. Its Bucharest offer includes a Cessna flight and aerobatic options.

Paramotor and motorised hang gliding
Paramotoring combines a paraglider wing with a motor and can offer a lower-altitude view of the landscape. A provider near Brașov advertises recreational paramotor flights departing from Aerodrom Piatra Craiului in Zărnești. Routes depend on the passenger’s preferences, weather and operator approval. In Sibiu County, the county tourism directory lists providers for tandem motorised hang-glider flights around Cisnădie, as well as paragliding activity around Tocile and Sadu.

Helicopter sightseeing
Helicopter rides are offered by arrangement in several Romanian regions, including Bucharest, Brașov, Cluj, Constanța/Mamaia and the Danube Delta. Routes, departure points and prices vary; request confirmation from the operator for the exact location and aircraft. HeliTaxi flight information.
How to choose and book
- Choose the activity and the region you will visit; do not assume every provider operates at every airfield.
- Ask the operator to confirm the exact launch or departure point, date, passenger limits, what is included and what happens if weather prevents flying.
- For a tandem flight, check age, weight, health and clothing requirements before paying.
- Allow flexibility in your itinerary. A weather postponement is common in aviation activities, particularly paragliding and ballooning.
- Book only through the operator or a recognised booking partner, and read the cancellation and rescheduling terms.
