A visit to Recaș can add vineyards and a booked cellar experience to a Banat itinerary. Start with the reservation, then arrange transport and decide how much of the day you want to spend there. A short tasting and a longer visit with food are different outings, so choose the experience that fits your group rather than booking on the strength of a photograph alone.

Book the cellar experience first
Cramele Recaș’s official visitor offer requires reservations at least 48 hours ahead. The published minimum is four people Monday–Friday, 10:00–16:30; after 16:30 and on Saturday, it is 20 people. Contact +40 744 366 146 to confirm availability.
These conditions matter particularly for couples and small groups planning a weekend. Ask whether an appropriate session is available before travelling. Confirm the meeting point, language, payment and cancellation arrangements, and any accessibility needs. A retail shop being open does not mean a cellar tour is available without booking.
Compare the published tasting packages
The same visitor page displayed these per-person packages when checked on 5 October 2026. Each includes a vineyard and old-cellar visit; confirm the final quotation and itinerary when booking.
| Package | Duration | Price | Published tasting and food |
|---|---|---|---|
| Curious | 1 hour | 120 lei | Five wines, bread with olive oil and cheese |
| Enthusiast | 2 hours | 235 lei | Five wines, bread and cheese, main course, dessert, water and coffee |
| Lover | 3 hours | 290 lei | Five wines, bread and cheese, two main courses, dessert, water and coffee |
| Connoisseur | 3 hours | 530 lei | Six wines, bread and cheese, two main courses, dessert, water and coffee |
Choose a duration that leaves time for the journey, and discuss dietary requirements before confirming a food package. Ask about non-alcoholic options for anyone who does not drink and participation arrangements for accompanying family members. Do not assume alternatives are automatically included.
Distinguish the winery shop from the town shop
The operator’s contact page lists the winery at Complex de vinificație CP1, Recaș. Its winery shop opens Monday–Friday, 10:00–16:30, and is listed as closed on Saturday and Sunday.
A separate presentation shop is listed at 96 Calea Timișoarei, Recaș, with hours of 08:30–19:00, Monday–Sunday, and telephone +40 256 330 724. Confirm the relevant location and current hours if you mainly want to buy bottles. General winery enquiries can also go to office@recaswine.ro.
Keep the shop address and the confirmed tour meeting point separate in your navigation. If you are buying wine to take home, think about luggage space and the rules applying to your onward journey before making a purchase.
Put Recaș in a wider wine-country itinerary
Visit Timiș’s Wine Road project began in 2023 around Silagiu–Buziaș and expanded into the Recaș wine area and Nițchidorf communities. It brings together wine, local food, vineyard visits and regional heritage.
Use the project as inspiration for a day or a longer journey, but contact each producer individually. Inclusion in a tourism route is not a shared opening timetable or a guarantee of walk-in access. One confirmed cellar visit and a relaxed meal may suit your group better than several tightly scheduled tastings.
Consider another local stop
The municipality’s tourist-attractions page also identifies the Izvin stud farm and the Herneacova riding centre. Check their own visiting or activity arrangements before adding them, rather than assuming a winery booking provides access.
For a cultural alternative, combine the outing with a town or museum visit that your whole group will enjoy. Leave the afternoon flexible if the confirmed tasting takes longer than expected.
Arrange a suitable return journey
Settle transport before the tasting: use a driver who will not drink, a prearranged transfer or another confirmed option. Check pickup details and the return time. The operator promotes its wine to adults aged 18 and over; ask it directly about arrangements for accompanying children.
