Comana Adventure Park: Ropes Courses, Zip Lines and a Family Day Out

Set among the trees and lakeside grounds of Casa Comana, the Comana Adventure Park turns a day in Giurgiu County into an active outdoor break. The main attraction is a set of elevated ropes courses for different age and height groups, with zip lines over woodland and water. Pair it with a walk or a separate nature visit, but check weather, age rules and booking conditions before you travel.

Adventure park and natural park: what’s the difference?

Comana Adventure Park is a private outdoor activity venue at Casa Comana, on Strada Gelu Naum 607. It sits in the wider Comana area, known for the separately administered Comana Natural Park and wetland landscapes. The adventure park is not the same as the protected area: tickets, opening times, safety rules and access arrangements differ. Plan each as a separate activity.

What you can do

Ropes courses for different ages

The operator describes nine tree-top courses: three for children aged 4–6, three for children aged 7–14, and three for adults or visitors taller than 1.70 m. Staff can advise which route matches a participant’s age, height and confidence. Follow the harness briefing and do not assume a child can use a particular route without the operator’s approval.

Zip lines over trees and lake

The park’s published page highlights a sequence of ten tree zip lines, a 130-metre line over the lake and a 300-metre “Dragon” zip line starting from a 20-metre tower. Availability can depend on weather, maintenance and safety conditions. Ask which lines are running on your date before building the day around them.

Make a full day of it

Casa Comana also lists seasonal leisure options such as boat rides, boat or kayak rental, a small train, a children’s play area and bicycle hire. These are separate services and may operate only on particular days or seasons. Check the resort’s programme for the exact activity you want rather than relying on old listings.

Current timetable, booking and prices

Casa Comana currently lists the adventure park as open 09:00–17:00 Monday to Friday and 09:00–19:00 at weekends. The adventure park information page also notes seasonal restrictions: in autumn and winter, group reservations may be required, and poor weather can close the park regardless of the regular timetable. Its listed prices are 70 lei for a three-hour tree-climbing session, including three lake zip-line crossings, and 15 lei for a single lake zip-line crossing. Confirm the current package, age/height requirements, booking rules and weather status directly with Casa Comana before paying or travelling.

Getting there

Comana is a day-trip destination south of Bucharest. Driving gives the most flexibility for combining the adventure park with other local stops; check a current route and traffic before departure. Public transport options can be limited or seasonal, so confirm both the outbound and return journey in advance. The venue is outside the centre of Bucharest and should not be treated as a quick city-centre attraction.

How long to plan

Reserve at least three hours for the ropes-course package listed by the operator, plus time for check-in, safety instruction and breaks. For a relaxed outing with lunch and one additional activity, plan most of the day. Arrive early on weekends and allow flexibility if weather affects the courses.

Safety and what to bring

  • Shoes: wear closed, secure footwear. The operator does not allow sandals, slippers or shoes that do not protect the feet on the tree courses and zip lines.
  • Children: minors must be supervised by a parent or responsible adult, who remains responsible for their safety and conduct.
  • Clothing: choose comfortable clothes that allow movement; tie back long hair and secure loose items.
  • Weather: confirm operation during rain, strong wind, cold or high humidity; outdoor courses may close for safety.
  • Accessibility: elevated courses require climbing and are not suitable for every mobility level. Contact the operator about individual needs before booking.
  • Food and water: the Casa Comana grounds list restaurants and terraces with separate schedules. Check what is open on your visit date.

Suggested itinerary

  1. Check the forecast, current opening information and course rules the day before.
  2. Arrive in the morning, register and complete the safety briefing.
  3. Spend the main part of the visit on the course suited to each participant.
  4. Take a break for lunch, then choose a second activity only after confirming it is operating.
  5. If time permits, plan a separate short nature visit in the Comana area; follow the protected-area rules and marked routes.
