Satu Mare County · Wine and rural heritage
Beltiug Wine Region
Make Beltiug a planned countryside visit: arrange a cellar experience, learn about its wine traditions and leave time for the village. A confirmed appointment will tell you more than a drive past vineyard rows.

Cellars and the landscape
Beltiug’s appeal lies in the relationship between village, vineyards and hillside wine storage. Satu Mare County Council’s wine-route description highlights the family cellars built into the slope and places Beltiug within a wider route that also takes in Ardud and Viile Satu Mare. Use that older route description to understand the landscape, rather than as a current list of cellars open to the public. Source: Satu Mare County Council.
Nachbil’s own history connects local viticulture with the eighteenth-century Károlyi estate and Swabian settlement. The present winery was founded in 1999 and describes the acquisition and restoration of the historic Károlyi cellar in 2002. Its account also explains how the grape varieties grown locally have changed. Ask a host to connect these stages with the particular cellar and wines you are visiting. Source: Nachbil winery.
The cellars form part of a working community. A picturesque entrance does not indicate public access, and a vineyard track is not automatically a walking route. Stay on public roads and paths unless a landowner or host has given you permission to enter.
A bookable visit to Nachbil
Nachbil advertises winery visits and wine tastings by prior appointment. Its visitor page describes introductions to the winery’s history, local wine traditions and its approach to winemaking, with tastings featuring wines from the Nachbil and La Capella ranges. Ask which wines and activities are included in the session available for your date. Source: Nachbil visitor information.
The official contact page lists Strada Pieții, no. 428, Beltiug, Satu Mare County and office@nachbil.com. Use the winery’s contact page to enquire; obtain confirmation of the meeting point as well as the booking. A business address does not establish where every organised outing starts.
- Give your preferred date, party size and preferred language.
- Ask for the price, duration, included wines and whether food is provided.
- Check whether the experience includes a cellar, vineyard or only a tasting space.
- Ask about access needs, non-drinking guests and any minimum group requirement.
- Arrange transport and a return time before confirming the visit.
No standard tasting price or daily drop-in timetable is established by the visitor page checked for this guide. An event package may have different conditions from a private appointment. Follow the winery’s current quotation and booking terms.
A suggested Beltiug and Ardud day
For a heritage-focused outing, arrange Ardud Fortress first and a Beltiug cellar visit later, leaving a generous gap for travel and lunch. Reverse the order if the hosts’ confirmed times require it. This is an editorial itinerary suggestion, not an organised tour or a guarantee that both visits are available on the same day.
If everyone in your party wishes to taste wine, use a booked transfer or another arrangement with a driver who will not drink. Confirm the return journey in advance; do not depend on finding transport at the end of a rural appointment. A separate Satu Mare city day offers museums and architecture without adding another timed rural visit.
Events and the time of year
The winery’s Cellar Tour page describes an organised event, but the page checked did not establish an upcoming date. Confirm the current edition and its programme before buying travel around it. Old festival photographs and past announcements can show the atmosphere without proving that an event is scheduled for your trip.
Ask about the season when you book. Harvest work can change what a host can show, and an autumn vineyard visit depends on the actual appointment and conditions. Comfortable footwear and an extra layer are useful if the confirmed visit includes an outdoor section or cellar.
