Băile Olănești suits a slower Vâlcea break: a walk around the spring area, time in the resort’s green spaces and a separately planned pool session. Stay long enough to enjoy the setting, and choose your accommodation around the activities you actually want to do.

Get to know the resort
The municipality’s presentation places the resort in the Olănești valley among wooded hills. It describes more than 35 mineral-water sources and traces the growth of the spa to the study and development of those waters, including recognition at Vienna’s international exhibition in 1873.
The springs give the place its identity, but sightseeing and a prescribed spa programme need different planning. If you intend to use mineral water as part of a treatment, seek advice from the qualified staff responsible for your programme rather than copying another visitor’s choice of spring.
Walks and a gentle first day
The county tourism presentation highlights the central park, outdoor walks and the surrounding mountain setting. Start with a manageable walk around the resort and ask locally which spring paths are open. A slow circuit with time to sit can be more enjoyable than trying to cover every numbered source.
Choose your route according to the surface, slope and weather on the day. Ask your accommodation or local visitor information for a current map and details of any spring-area charges or access conditions. A current spring-access price was not verified, so keep that separate from a pool ticket or hotel booking.
Tisa Aquapark: choose the right ticket
Tisa’s official aquapark page lists leisure and swimming pools, children’s pools and slides. Its outdoor facilities have seasonal arrangements; confirm which areas are operating for your visit. The aquapark is at Strada Carol Davila 4, and the operator lists +40 371 235 185 and sparesort@tisa.ro.
The published ticket sheet, checked in October 2026, gives the following aquapark prices in Romanian lei:
| Visitor | 3 hours | Full day |
|---|---|---|
| Adult | 65 lei | 95 lei |
| Age 14–17 | 45 lei | 75 lei |
| Age 3–13 | 35 lei | 35 lei |
The sheet lists daily hours of 10:00–20:00, measures time from receiving the wristband until returning it, and charges 10 lei per extra 30 minutes. It warns that prices may rise during busy periods. Check the price for your date and ask about under-three admission and any discounts before arriving.
The combined Spa & Rituals and Aquapark ticket is a different product. The sheet describes that package as available on Saturday and Sunday, with massages and therapist-led treatments charged separately. Confirm its availability and age rules rather than assuming every aquapark ticket includes the spa areas.
Booking a comfortable stay
Check the exact building and facilities included in your room rate. A hotel’s own pool and a separate aquapark can have different access terms, and a discounted ticket is different from included admission. Ask about meals, parking, lifts and the walk to your planned activities before confirming accommodation.
For a two-night break, use the arrival afternoon to get your bearings, keep the next day for a longer walk and pool session, and leave the final morning unhurried. Book treatment appointments separately if that is your purpose for visiting.
Mountain outings need their own plan
The county tourism account identifies nearby Buila-Vânturarița National Park as a mountain destination. Treat a hike there as a separate outing with an appropriate route, equipment, current conditions and a return plan. Do not assume that a path starting near a spa town remains a gentle resort walk for its whole length.
For broader local enquiries, the municipality lists Strada 1 Decembrie 1 and +40 250 775 099. Confirm transport to the resort and back, especially if combining your stay with the museums of Râmnicu Vâlcea.
Visitor planning checked October 2026. Aquapark prices and hours are the operator’s published reference; confirm current charges, operating areas and spring access before travelling.
